Dr. Friemel earned her medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.
She is affiliated with the following hospitals: Genesis Medical Center, UnityPoint and City of Hope (COH), but works with all outside providers.

Stacy Hockett, A.R.N.P., AGACNP-BC
Stacy Hockett is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with an extensive background in advanced clinical care, nursing education, trauma and surgical medicine, neurosurgical care, and hospice services. With nearly two decades of experience in the nursing profession, Stacy brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of patient care.
Stacy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2006 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Driven by her commitment to advancing her clinical expertise, she returned to the University of Texas at Arlington, where she earned her Master of Science Nursing (MSN) in 2016. She obtained national board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Throughout her career, Stacy has gained valuable experience in a variety of complex healthcare settings. Her professional background includes working with Acclaim Physician Group in Fort Worth, Texas, where she practiced in trauma and surgical care, as well as the Brain and Spine Institute at Shannon Clinic, where she gained experience in neurosurgical care. She also served with Hospice of San Angelo through the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, further broadening her understanding of chronic illness, symptom management, and compassionate, individualized care.
In addition to her clinical accomplishments, Stacy has contributed to the education and development of future nurses through positions with Angelo State University and Howard College. Her experience in nursing education reflects her commitment to sharing clinical knowledge, promoting evidence-based practice, and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Stacy’s diverse medical background has provided her with a unique perspective on the complexities of health and disease. Through her experiences caring for patients with acute, chronic, and life-limiting conditions, she recognizes the importance of looking beyond individual symptoms to understand the broader factors influencing a patient’s health.
Now joining the team at Iowa Cancer Specialists, Stacy is expanding her expertise into functional medicine, combining her extensive conventional medical background with a personalized, whole-person approach to healthcare. Through continued education and mentorship with Gayle Wallace, Stacy is developing additional knowledge in functional medicine principles, with an emphasis on identifying contributing factors to illness, supporting overall wellness, and developing individualized care strategies.
Stacy values building meaningful relationships with patients and believes that education, communication, and collaboration are essential components of quality healthcare. She is excited to bring her years of clinical experience, passion for education, and dedication to compassionate care to patients seeking a more comprehensive approach to their health.
Tami Sheldon, A.R.N.P.
Tami attended Illinois State University where she completed a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Fitness. She finished additional education at Chamberlain University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. After working as a registered nurse in obstetrics, family planning and open-heart surgery, Tami pursued a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and is a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
As a nurse practitioner, she has provided care for women in a community health care setting here in the Quad Cities. She also has experience working in pain management, but her passion has always been for women’s health.
